Preparing for Your Child's First Visit
How can I prepare my child?
Please complete your child's medical history and bring your insurance information to help make check-in quick and easy. If your child takes any medications, bring a list or prescription. If you're transferring from another dental office, we'll help request your child's dental records.
Talk about the visit in a positive way. Instead of saying things like "It won't hurt" or "You won't get a shot," let your child know the dentist will count their teeth, take special pictures, and help keep their smile healthy.
What's the Best Appointment Time?
For children ages 4 and under, morning appointments are usually best. Kids are often more rested and comfortable earlier in the day, making the visit easier for everyone.
What Can We Expect During the Visit?
Our friendly team will welcome you and help your child feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. We use gentle, child-friendly techniques like "Tell-Show-Do" to explain each step before we begin.
Your child will receive a thorough exam, and if needed, we may take low-dose digital X-rays. We'll also discuss brushing, diet, fluoride, thumb sucking or pacifier habits, and answer any questions you have.
Before you leave, we'll review any recommended treatment or preventive care, and your child will receive a special gift bag and a token to choose a prize from our toy tower!
