Behavior Guidance & Sedation

Helping Your Child Feel Comfortable

Our pediatric dental team uses gentle, child-friendly techniques to help every visit feel positive and stress-free. We explain each step in simple language and use the Tell-Show-Do method, allowing children to see and understand what will happen before treatment begins.

We also use positive reinforcement, distraction, and short, supportive visits when needed to help children build confidence at the dentist.

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas)

Laughing gas is a safe, gentle option that helps children relax while staying awake and responsive during treatment. It can reduce anxiety, lessen the gag reflex, and make longer appointments more comfortable.

For the Best Results, Your Child Should:

·Breathe comfortably through their nose
·Avoid eating for 3 hours before the appointment (water is okay)

If your child has a cold or nasal congestion, please let us know, as the appointment may need to be rescheduled.

General Anesthesia

For children with extensive dental needs, severe anxiety, or certain special healthcare needs, general anesthesia may be recommended. It is administered and carefully monitored by a medical anesthesiologist, allowing treatment to be completed safely while your child is fully asleep.

Our doctors will recommend this option only when it is the safest and most appropriate choice for your child's care.
